Cable theft in Rustenburg is burdening local industries and communities

Rampant cable theft in Rustenburg in the North West is burdening local industries and communities. In the latest incident, over 4 kilometers of aluminum were stolen near Marikana. It cost Eskom over R400 million. Eskom is replacing copper conductors with aluminum conductors. But thieves are stealing this – melting it – and remaking them into pots.
